Maine officials to finalize medical marijuana license applicants this week

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Only one applicant remains for a medical marijuana dispensary and cultivation license in Bennington, Vermont.

The Bennington Banner reports Vermont Green Grow was rejected after state officials determined their application was incomplete.

In a statement Thursday, Bernard Barriere says his group did include all the necessary information. He also complained of a “bias” against Green Grow.

Lindsey Wells, who leads the Vermont Medical Marijuana Registry, says they do not have any comment.

Five groups remain in the running for the license. Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Anderson makes the final decision, and Wells says it will be announced sometime early this week.

The owner of the license will be allowed to create a satellite retail operation under the medical marijuana program.
